GLENNVIEW MEMORIAL PARK

CEMETERY GROUND RULES & MARKER ORDER GUIDELINES

(MESSAGE FROM NEW MANAGEMENT - "NEW TURN-AROUND TIME ON GRANITE TOMBSTONE AND MARKER ORDERS IS NOW UNDER 3 MONTHS!")

Thank you for choosing Glennview Memorial Park for the interment of your

loved one. Glennview is a private memorial garden uniquely dedicated to the

perpetual preservation of a garden for the restful and peaceful burials of those

interned as the founders had envisioned. In order to carry out the wishes of its

founder, that is a permanent garden where all areas are uniform and create the

theme of a royal garden, Glennview has adopted uniform rules which may be

changed from time-to-time, for its preservation. If you are not acquainted, the

following is a list of our policies and procedures presently in effect:

• Although we would like our grounds to be in immaculate

shape, it normally takes about 6-9 months for the earth to settle after a

burial and weather conditions play a significant role in our ability to

perform our responsibilities. (Memorial markers will be placed at the head of the grave if installation is requested during the ground settling period).

• We will continue to perform our duties of upkeeping a beautifully maintained memorial garden, by manicuring the gardens, trimming and clipping around memorial markers, raising memorial markers if they have sunken over time, picking up trash, but we ask for your help as a community. You will be responsible for keeping your memorial markers polished, replacing pictures or vases and picking up your trash. If we can work together in harmony, our grounds will continue to improve each day.

• We are a vendor of flat, granite-based, bronze memorial plaques, the only memorials permitted on cemetery grounds. Schedule an appointment to visit our office and view a wide selection of approved markers or request that we send our marker brochures by mail or email.

• We cannot guarantee marker delivery times or marker installation times, but we do execute as efficiently as we can, around the schedule of funerals.

• We install markers in the order that we receive them.

• We do not permit temporary markers as they take away from the uniform appearance that we intend. Further, they make it difficult to navigate and in some cases cause damage to our maintenance machinery. ALL temporary items, markers and otherwise, will eventually be removed by our crew.

• If your marker is not a Glennview office-staff approved, flat, granite-based, bronze marker, it is considered temporary, thus well be removed. Temporary markers are defined as but not limited to; non-based plaques, all-granite stones, name plates, staked signs, standing displays, upright decor, or any non office-staff approved structural placement.

• If you would like to purchase markers from us via phone or email, we can accommodate this as well.

• Once you choose the details of the marker from the available options of our brochure, including marker type, size, color, name, dates of life, etc, a mock-up proof, based on your information will be created for your approval. We will revise as many drafts of this proof as you would like. We would like you to be more than satisfied with the design.

• Markers will be ordered once this proof is signed and agreed upon by you and the price of the marker is paid in full. Whoever signs the proof of the marker order and furnishes payment, represents the family of the deceased and is solely who Glennview will coordinate with in regards to the marker design, delivery, arrival and installation status. Once the marker has been signed and paid for, the order is final, no returns or refunds. The signer of the proof must be the purchaser of the marker. If paid for over the phone or by email, you may send us the signed proof via photograph or by scanned email

• (COMPANION MARKERS) - If dates of life/death for both companions are not purchased with the initial sale of the marker, they must be purchased when they are needed later. Please check with the Glennview office for the cost at the time of purchase.

• We do not produce or manufacture memorial markers in-house, we are a vendor.

• When markers arrive, they will be closely inspected by our staff. Small chips and nicks in the granite are subject to occur during transit. Since we do not manufacture or deliver the marker, we are not responsible for chips and nicks during shipment. But we will be glad to assist you in facilitating the replacement for your order if we can. We do not refund.

• Bronze plaques sold by other vendors are acceptable if they are approved by our office-staff management and match the uniformity at the time.

• If bronze markers are purchased from another vendor, you

may have them delivered to our memorial gardens, (not to our office). There must be a Glennview staff member on site to sign an acknowledgment of the delivery, that lists the name on the marker, the name of the person delivering, the company the marker was purchased from and the time/date of the delivery.

• All markers must be installed by Glennview personnel, once the required installation fee of the marker is paid to the office of Glennview Memorial Park. The installation fee is only to be paid to the in-office staff. Installation fee is subject to change, please verify with our office staff at time of delivery. (The installation fee is already included in the original price of markers sold by Glennview).

• No temporary location markers are permitted. Our grave locations are not posted on Findagrave.com, or any website/public forum. If you need to know the location of a loved one, never hesitate to have our cemetery ground supervisor call the office to look up your loved one’s grave location and show you where the location is.

• You may also prepare ahead of your visit, by requesting the location plot number of your loved one, via email. When you arrive, give this plot location information to the cemetery ground supervisor, so that he may take you to the location. Please do not ask anyone but the ground supervisor for help finding a location. Cemetery ground staff are on grounds from 8am-4pm, Monday through Fridays. If you will need assistance locating a grave space, scheduling your visits with us via email is recommended.

• When a grave space is purchased, it is still owned by Glennview Memorial Park, however we grant the usage of the grave space for internment of your loved one.

• We do our best to provide a safe memorial garden, however, Glennview Memorial Park is not responsible for stolen or damaged property, including but not limited to pictures, vases or memorial markers. You may have your markers and vases insured.

• Please be respectful of the memorial garden and areas surrounding your loved one’s grave space. Littering, disposing of trash and leaving your belongings on cemetery grounds is not permitted.

•  Please do not touch or disturb anyone else’s grave space, marker or vase. Altering, digging, or rearranging any grave space in any way, is not permitted. Once your marker is installed, please do not uninstall it, move it or attempt to remove it from its position. If you have any concerns about your marker, you may address them with the ground supervisor or office staff.

• You are allowed to leave flowers either on your own loved one’s grave space, over the top of their marker, or in the vase of their marker. Eventually, all grave space decor will be removed after some time, in order to maintain the uniformity of the garden. Standing wreaths are permitted on the day of the funeral (and for up to one week after), while lights, candles, toys and other non floral decor are not permitted. Anything that is not an office-staff approved, permanently installed, flat, granit-based, bronze marker/plaque will be removed.

• Parties and social gatherings are not permitted on cemetery grounds. Cemetery grounds are not a social hang-out. Please do not hold events with loud music, tables, chairs or food at any time. Only official funeral services and small graveside memorial gatherings of 10 or less people are permitted for visitation thereafter. • Cemetery grounds are closed by nightfall and the entrance will be gated when staff leaves for the evening. No one is permitted on cemetery grounds after dark.
